Lex Kiefhaber

Lex Kiefhaber is the founder and CEO of United by Zero and co-host of the Who's Saving the Planet podcast. He grew up in Southern California before attending Yale University, graduating with a degree in Political Science and Philosophy. He then went into a career in hospitality, achieving national recognition as the Wine Director and Sommelier of Smith and Wollensky in New York.

Lex later attended Columbia Business School where he was the VP of Sourcing for the Insite Fellows, building an education in and love for early stage high growth companies. He went on to work at Firstleaf, a DTC winery.

Lex's transition to focusing his life's work on combating the climate crisis began well before his career caught up. In 2015, in response to the IPCC report released that year, he founded Phone Bank for Earth, a short lived effort to galvanize citizens to directly advocate for climate policy changes by contacting their representatives.

Lex is immensely grateful for the love and support of his family, friends, mentors and colleagues who championed his passion for (and tolerated his diatribes on) the need to engage every day people in the fight to save the future for generations to come. He hopes that through both the Who's Saving the Planet podcast and United by Zero, a sustainable future is made more possible.
